9.43

तत्र यदाधिष्ठेयतया बहीरूपतया भानं तदा जाग्रदवस्था मेये मातरि माने च

Transliteration (IAST)

tatra yadādhiṣṭheyatayā bahīrūpatayā bhānaṃ tadā jāgradavasthā meye mātari māne ca

— as that which is to be presided over (the substrate) ; — in an outward (external) form ; — the appearing, the shining-forth ; — the waking state ; — in the object (the measured) ; — in the perceiver (the measurer) ; — in the means of knowledge (the measuring)

Therein, when the appearing is as that which is to be presided over, in an outward form, then it is the waking state — in the object, in the perceiver, and in the means of knowledge.
