— in (producing) the organ of hearing ; — distinguished by the capacity to produce sound ; — in (producing) the organ of smell ; — (the view that the sense-organs are) made of gross elements ; — I hear ; — their derivation from the I-maker ; — their being touched by the agent-aspect ; — because of the fall into infinite regress and the like

In (producing) the organ of hearing it is distinguished by the capacity to produce sound, and in the organ of smell it is endowed with the fitness to produce odor — and so on. Hence the view that the sense-organs are made of gross elements is untenable. Moreover, from the running-through of "I hear" and the like, their derivation from the I-maker is evident. And as instruments they must necessarily be touched by the agent-aspect; otherwise, in attributing them to some other instrument, an infinite regress and the like would ensue.
