शून्यत्वे सति युज्येत प्रमाणं वोपपद्यते । संवृत्यैव संवृतिर्हि निवार्या चेदसंगमः ॥८५॥
śūnyatve sati yujyeta pramāṇaṃ vopapadyate | saṃvṛtyaiva saṃvṛtirhi nivāryā cedasaṃgamaḥ
— if there be voidness ; — would (a means of knowledge) be tenable? ; — a means of valid knowledge ; — or is it established? ; — by (mere) conventional (truth) ; — convention ; — indeed ; — is to be set aside ; — if ; — incoherence

If there be voidness, would any means of knowledge be tenable, or established? And if convention is to be set aside by (mere) convention itself, (there results) incoherence (— the conventional cannot ground its own dismissal).
