निवृत्ते वाच्यसम्बन्धे प्रद्वेषो विधिगः परम् । अघटत्वं न सामान्यं किं न वा ह्यविशेषकम् ॥८०॥
nivṛtte vācyasambandhe pradveṣo vidhigaḥ param | aghaṭatvaṃ na sāmānyaṃ kiṃ na vā hyaviśeṣakam
— when (positive) reference has been set aside ; — the connection with the signified ; — aversion (to affirmation) ; — resorting to affirmation (covertly) ; — yet, after all ; — non-pot-ness ; — not a universal? ; — or why not? ; — indeed ; — undifferentiating

When the connection with the positive signified has been set aside, (your) aversion (to affirmation) yet resorts to affirmation after all; and is 'non-pot-ness' not (itself) a universal? Or why is it not (likewise) undifferentiating (and so useless)?
