कुतो घटस्य जननाकारनामावधारणम् ।
यावता प्राग्दशानष्टा न प्रवृत्तिरथान्यथा ॥७१॥
kuto ghaṭasya jananākāranāmāvadhāraṇam |
yāvatā prāgdaśānaṣṭā na pravṛttirathānyathā
Whence (could there be) the determining of the pot's generation, form and name — inasmuch as the prior state (of clay) is unperished (when the pot appears)? (For if it were perished,) there would be no (continued) engagement (yielding the pot); (so it must be) otherwise (than the momentarist holds).
