किं विधाय घटं नो वा स मृत्पिण्डोऽभिधीयताम् ।
अकृत्वाकरणं कुम्भे कृत्वा तस्य स्वरूपिता ॥७०॥
kiṃ vidhāya ghaṭaṃ no vā sa mṛtpiṇḍo'bhidhīyatām |
akṛtvākaraṇaṃ kumbhe kṛtvā tasya svarūpitā
Let it be said: does that lump of clay (perish) after making the pot, or not? If without making (the jar, it perishes), there is no making of the jar; and if after making (it persists, so there is) its abiding in its own form (— either way momentariness fails).
