विनाशे कारणानां हि विनाशः कारणात्मना ।
स्वयं विनश्येन्मृत्पिण्ड एवं चेत्स विनश्यति ॥६९॥
vināśe kāraṇānāṃ hi vināśaḥ kāraṇātmanā |
svayaṃ vinaśyenmṛtpiṇḍa evaṃ cetsa vinaśyati
For in the destruction (of an effect), the destruction (rests) on the causes by way of their causal nature; (and if you say) the lump of clay would perish of itself — if so (— it perishing by its own nature alone —) then it perishes (regardless, which the need for a potter belies).
