The Vision of Śiva6.69

6.69
विनाशे कारणानां हि विनाशः कारणात्मना । स्वयं विनश्येन्मृत्पिण्ड एवं चेत्स विनश्यति ॥६९॥
vināśe kāraṇānāṃ hi vināśaḥ kāraṇātmanā | svayaṃ vinaśyenmṛtpiṇḍa evaṃ cetsa vinaśyati
— in (the case of) destruction ; — of the causes ; — indeed ; — destruction ; — by way of (their) causal nature ; — of itself ; — would perish ; — the lump of clay ; — if so ; — it perishes

For in the destruction (of an effect), the destruction (rests) on the causes by way of their causal nature; (and if you say) the lump of clay would perish of itself — if so (— it perishing by its own nature alone —) then it perishes (regardless, which the need for a potter belies).
