विरोधे दण्डघटयोर्दृष्टान्तोऽस्ति न ते क्वचित् ।
तेजसा तमसो यस्मान्न विनाशस्त्वयेष्यते ॥७२॥
virodhe daṇḍaghaṭayordṛṣṭānto'sti na te kvacit |
tejasā tamaso yasmānna vināśastvayeṣyate
As for (a relation of) opposition (such as you posit) between stick and pot — you have no (valid) example for it anywhere; since the destruction of darkness by light is not admitted by you (— darkness for the Buddhist being mere absence of light, not a thing destroyed).
