रूपे हेत्वन्तरापेक्षा यत्र तत्र तथा कृता ।
घटस्य नश्वरात्मत्वे मुद्गरादेरपेक्षणम् ॥६७॥
rūpe hetvantarāpekṣā yatra tatra tathā kṛtā |
ghaṭasya naśvarātmatve mudgarāderapekṣaṇam
Wherever, with respect to a (new) form, a dependence on a further cause is posited (it bespeaks the prior thing's persistence); (whereas) if the pot's very nature were perishable (of itself), the requiring of a mallet and the like (to break it would be pointless).
