दृष्टान्तेऽपि हि सादृश्ये प्रत्यक्षेण क्षणग्रहः ।
दीपज्वालासमूहेषु कम्पनं न विनाशिता ॥५६॥
dṛṣṭānte'pi hi sādṛśye pratyakṣeṇa kṣaṇagrahaḥ |
dīpajvālāsamūheṣu kampanaṃ na vināśitā
Even in the example adduced for similarity (the lamp-flame), there is (no real) grasping of (distinct) moments by perception; in masses of lamp-flames there is (only) a flickering, not (a perishing-and-renewing) destruction.
