6.53
भावस्य भावजनने युक्तत्वं न क्षणस्थितेः । न घटाद्घटसम्भूतिः समवायाद्यपेक्षया ॥५३॥
bhāvasya bhāvajanane yuktatvaṃ na kṣaṇasthiteḥ | na ghaṭādghaṭasambhūtiḥ samavāyādyapekṣayā
— of an existent thing ; — in the producing of (another) thing ; — tenability ; — not ; — because of (the doctrine of) momentary duration ; — not ; — from a pot ; — the arising of a pot ; — by reason of (their) dependence on inherence and the like

On (the momentarist's doctrine of) duration-for-a-moment, the tenability of an existent thing's producing (another) thing (is lost); (and on the realist's view) no pot arises from a (prior) pot, by reason of (their needing) inherence and the like (which the momentarist denies).
