भावस्य भावजनने युक्तत्वं न क्षणस्थितेः ।
न घटाद्घटसम्भूतिः समवायाद्यपेक्षया ॥५३॥
bhāvasya bhāvajanane yuktatvaṃ na kṣaṇasthiteḥ |
na ghaṭādghaṭasambhūtiḥ samavāyādyapekṣayā
On (the momentarist's doctrine of) duration-for-a-moment, the tenability of an existent thing's producing (another) thing (is lost); (and on the realist's view) no pot arises from a (prior) pot, by reason of (their needing) inherence and the like (which the momentarist denies).
