कुर्वद्वा चार्थकार्यत्वं कुतो नश्वररूपता । कारणान्तरजन्यत्वे कारणान्तरसंगता ॥५२॥
kurvadvā cārthakāryatvaṃ kuto naśvararūpatā | kāraṇāntarajanyatve kāraṇāntarasaṃgatā
— or while producing ; — and ; — the producing of an effective object ; — whence? ; — perishability ; — if (it be) produced by a further cause ; — connection with (yet) another cause (results)

Or, while it is producing an effective object, whence (comes) perishability? And if (the perishing) be produced by a further cause, connection with (yet) another cause (results, and so on without end).
