6.30
वदन्ति ते हि सकलमेतन्नारदसंग्रहात् । कालकारणिकानां तु नामता जडताथवा ॥३०॥
vadanti te hi sakalametannāradasaṃgrahāt | kālakāraṇikānāṃ tu nāmatā jaḍatāthavā
— they say ; — they indeed ; — all this ; — from the compendium of Nārada ; — but for those who make Time the cause ; — (it is reduced to) a mere name ; — insentience ; — or else

They indeed declare all this on the strength of the Nārada compendium. But for those who make Time (kāla) the cause, (their first principle is) either a mere name, or else (sheer) insentience.
