दुःखादिना विशेषश्चेत् तत्राप्यशिवता नच ।
दुःखेऽपि प्रविकासेन दुःखार्थे धृतिसंगमात् ॥९॥
duḥkhādinā viśeṣaścet tatrāpyaśivatā naca |
duḥkhe'pi pravikāsena duḥkhārthe dhṛtisaṃgamāt
If (you say) there is a distinction (introduced) by suffering and the like — even there non-Śiva-ness is not (present); for even in suffering, by way of (consciousness's) expansion, in the very object of suffering there is a meeting with (a kind of) firm resolve.
