5.87

ये तत्र पृष्ठतो वृत्तास्ते प्रत्येकममूर्तकाः । अमूर्तत्वेन भावानां दर्शनं नान्यथा भवेत् ॥८७॥

ye tatra pṛṣṭhato vṛttāste pratyekamamūrtakāḥ | amūrtatvena bhāvānāṃ darśanaṃ nānyathā bhavet

— which (atoms) ; — there ; — at the back ; — situated ; — they ; — each singly ; — incorporeal ; — through incorporeality ; — of existent things ; — the perceiving ; — could not be otherwise

Those (atoms) situated at the back there are each singly incorporeal (and yet enter cognition); (hence) the perceiving of existent things could be in no other way than through (their fundamental) incorporeality (i.e. their being consciousness).
