तत्सामस्त्यस्याग्रहणाददृष्टे धर्मिता कुतः ।
दृष्टश्चेत् सर्वघटवत्तदङ्गस्याग्निदर्शनम् ॥५४॥
tatsāmastyasyāgrahaṇādadṛṣṭe dharmitā kutaḥ |
dṛṣṭaścet sarvaghaṭavattadaṅgasyāgnidarśanam
Since its totality is not grasped, whence (could there be) property-bearer-hood in the unseen (whole)? And if (you say) the locus is seen, then (just) as with (the supposed seeing of) the whole pot, the seeing of fire (would belong only) to its (visible) part (and the inference of the rest fails).
