कुत्र तेऽन्यत्र दृष्टत्वात्तद्दृष्टेरग्निदृष्टता । अत्रेति धर्मिता कस्य पर्वतादौ समस्तके ॥५३॥
kutra te'nyatra dṛṣṭatvāttaddṛṣṭeragnidṛṣṭatā | atreti dharmitā kasya parvatādau samastake
— where (is the fire)? ; — for you ; — because (smoke) was seen elsewhere (with fire) ; — from the seeing of that (smoke) ; — the supposed seeing of fire ; — here ; — thus ; — the status of property-bearer ; — of what? ; — in the mountain and the like ; — taken as a whole

Where, for you, (is the fire)? Because (smoke) was seen elsewhere (together with fire), from the seeing of that (smoke comes the supposed) seeing of fire 'here'; (but) of what is the status of property-bearer (the locus of fire) — of the mountain and the like taken as a whole (which is itself not wholly grasped)?
