5.50

सम्बन्धो ग्रहकाले तु नचोर्ध्वावयवैर्भवेत् । वह्नेर्दूरतरस्थित्या वह्निश्लिष्टेष्वलक्ष्यता ॥५०॥

sambandho grahakāle tu nacordhvāvayavairbhavet | vahnerdūratarasthityā vahniśliṣṭeṣvalakṣyatā

— connection ; — at the moment of grasping ; — but ; — not ; — with the upper parts ; — would be ; — of the fire ; — by its standing far off ; — in (the parts) adjoining the fire ; — imperceptibility

But at the moment of grasping (the smoke), there would be no connection (of the fire) with the upper parts (of the smoke); and by the fire's standing far off, in the (smoke-)parts adjoining the fire there is imperceptibility.
