अज्ञातेऽमुत्र याहीति प्रेर्यते केन मानसम् । प्रेर्यप्रेरणतत्कर्तृद्वयैक्यादुपपद्यते ॥११७॥
ajñāte'mutra yāhīti preryate kena mānasam | preryapreraṇatatkartṛdvayaikyādupapadyate
— toward the unknown ; — 'thither' ; — 'go!' ; — saying thus ; — is (it) impelled? ; — by what ; — the mental (faculty) ; — from the unity of the pair — the impelled, the impelling, and its agent ; — is (it) accounted for

(And toward) the unknown, is the mental faculty impelled (with a command) 'go thither'? (To whom would such a command be intelligible?) (Rather) it is accounted for only by the unity of (the three —) the impelled, the impelling, and the agent thereof.
