प्रक्रियामात्रमेवैतद्यतः पूर्वापरात्मता । क्रियायाः कारकाणां हि क्रमोऽस्त्येव स्वकर्मणि ॥१०४॥
prakriyāmātramevaitadyataḥ pūrvāparātmatā | kriyāyāḥ kārakāṇāṃ hi kramo'styeva svakarmaṇi
— merely a (mode of) procedure ; — this ; — because ; — the having of an earlier-and-later character ; — of the action ; — of the causal factors ; — indeed ; — sequence ; — does exist ; — in (their) own operation

This (succession) is merely a (mode of) procedure, since the earlier-and-later character belongs to the action; for the causal factors do indeed have a sequence in their own operation (while the underlying agent remains one).
