7.9
विविक्तं भूतलं शश्वद् भावानां स्वात्मनिष्ठितेः तत् कथं जातु तज्ज्ञानं भिन्नस्याभावसाधनम् ॥९॥
viviktaṃ bhūtalaṃ śaśvad bhāvānāṃ svātmaniṣṭhiteḥ tat kathaṃ jātu tajjñānaṃ bhinnasyābhāvasādhanam
— distinct, isolated ; — the ground (the bare floor) ; — always, perpetually ; — of entities ; — because of their resting in their own selves ; — therefore ; — how? ; — ever, at all ; — the cognition of it (the ground) ; — of a distinct (thing) ; — a proof of (its) absence

The ground is forever distinct, since entities rest each in their own self; how, then, could the cognition of it ever be a proof of the absence of a distinct (thing such as a pot)?
