नैवं शुद्धस्थलज्ञानात् सिद्ध्येत् तस्याघटात्मना
न तूपलब्धियोग्यस्याप्य् अत्राभावो घटात्मनः ॥८॥
naivaṃ śuddhasthalajñānāt siddhyet tasyāghaṭātmanā
na tūpalabdhiyogyasyāpy atrābhāvo ghaṭātmanaḥ
— not so; — from the cognition of the bare ground; — would be established; — of it (the ground); — as having a non-pot nature; — but not; — of what is fit for perception; — even; — here; — the absence; — of (a thing) having a pot-nature
(Reply:) It is not so. From the cognition of the bare ground there would be established only that the ground has a non-pot nature; there is not, however, even (a cognition of) the absence here of a pot-natured thing fit for perception.
