Transliteration (IAST)
tatra ghaṭikā tithiḥ māso varṣaṃ ca varṣasamūhātmā iti samastaḥ kālaḥ parisamāpyate | tatra sapañcāṃśe aṅgule caṣaka iti sthityā ghaṭikodayaḥ ghaṭikā hi ṣaṣṭyā caṣakaiḥ tasmāt dvāsaptatyaṅgulā bhavati
Therein the ghaṭikā, the lunar day, the month, and the year — which consists of an aggregate of years — thus the whole of Time is encompassed. Of these, by the convention that a caṣaka occupies a finger-breadth and a fifth, the ghaṭikā arises; for a ghaṭikā is composed of sixty caṣakas, and therefore it amounts to seventy-two finger-breadths.
