विततस् तन्त्रालोको विगाहितुं नैव शक्यते सर्वैः । ऋजुवचनविरचितम् इदं तु तन्त्रसारं ततः शृणुत

Transliteration (IAST)

vitatas tantrāloko vigāhituṃ naiva śakyate sarvaiḥ | ṛjuvacanaviracitam idaṃ tu tantrasāraṃ tataḥ śṛṇuta

— vast, extended, far-spread ; — the Tantrāloka (Abhinavagupta's major work) ; — to plunge into, to fathom ; — cannot be (done) ; — by all (people) ; — composed in plain (straightforward) words ; — this ; — the Tantrasāra (the Essence of the Tantra) ; — therefore, hence ; — hear, listen

The Tantrāloka is vast and cannot be fathomed by everyone; this Tantrasāra, however, is composed in plain words — therefore hear it.
