सत्यमेवं तथापीह सुवर्णं ज्ञातमात्रकम् । मूल्यादिनोपभोगाय दानार्थमुपयुज्यते ॥३॥
satyamevaṃ tathāpīha suvarṇaṃ jñātamātrakam | mūlyādinopabhogāya dānārthamupayujyate
— true ; — so ; — nevertheless ; — here ; — gold ; — merely (once) recognized ; — by way of (its) value and the like ; — for enjoyment ; — for giving ; — becomes serviceable

True, it is so; nevertheless here gold, merely once recognized (as gold), becomes serviceable — by way of (its) value and the like — for enjoyment and for giving (so recognition has a practical fruit).
