The Vision of Śiva6.96

6.96
बन्धमोक्षाद्यभावेन निर्मलोऽत्र करोति किम् । नच वा प्रत्ययं गच्छेत् झटित्येकोक्तिमात्रतः ॥९६॥
bandhamokṣādyabhāvena nirmalo'tra karoti kim | naca vā pratyayaṃ gacchet jhaṭityekoktimātrataḥ
— through the absence of bondage, liberation and the rest ; — the pure (self) ; — here ; — what would it do? ; — and nor ; — conviction ; — would (one) reach ; — at once ; — from a single bare statement

(Were the self taught as) pure, through the absence of bondage, liberation and the rest — what would (the seeker) do here (lacking any path)? And one would not reach conviction at once from a single bare statement (— so the graded teaching has its purpose).
