विकल्पाः पुनरायान्ति नचाभावक्रियां प्रति । घट एव करणत्वे सामग्री जनिकेति ते ॥६४॥
vikalpāḥ punarāyānti nacābhāvakriyāṃ prati | ghaṭa eva karaṇatve sāmagrī janiketi te
— the alternatives ; — come again ; — and not ; — with respect to the production of a non-entity (absence) ; — the pot itself ; — if it be the instrument ; — the (whole) collocation of causes ; — is the generator ; — so (say) you

The (same) alternatives come round again; and (there can be) no (intelligible) action with respect to (producing) a non-entity (absence). (If you say) the pot itself is the instrument (of its own destruction), (then) the whole collocation of causes is the generator (of the absence) — so you (must) say.
