5.30
अन्तर्विंशति चेच्छक्तिरन्तरप्युपलम्भनम् । अप्रवेशान्न मनसः सम्बन्ध उपपद्यते ॥३०॥
antarviṃśati cecchaktirantarapyupalambhanam | apraveśānna manasaḥ sambandha upapadyate
— enters within ; — if (you say) ; — the power ; — within too ; — apprehension (would have to occur) ; — because of (its) non-entry ; — not ; — of the mind ; — connection ; — is tenable

If (you say) the power enters within (the object) — then apprehension would have to occur within (the object too, which is absurd); and because the mind does not enter (the object), no connection of the mind (with it) is tenable (— consciousness alone bridges them).
