घटादेर्भवता ज्ञातमाचैतन्यं कथं यदि ।
चेष्टोन्मेषाद्यभावात्तन्मूर्च्छिते किं करिष्यसि ॥१८॥
ghaṭāderbhavatā jñātamācaitanyaṃ kathaṃ yadi |
ceṣṭonmeṣādyabhāvāttanmūrcchite kiṃ kariṣyasi
If (you say) the insentience of a pot and the like is known by you — how (is it known)? If (you say) from the absence of striving, opening of eyes and the like — then in the case of a person fainted (who also shows none of these) what will you do (— must you call him insentient too)?
