चेतनेच्छावशाद्बाह्यसम्पत्तेरजडः कथम् ।
तिष्ठत्यादिक्रियायां हि कर्तृत्वं न जडो भवेत् ॥१४॥
cetanecchāvaśādbāhyasampatterajaḍaḥ katham |
tiṣṭhatyādikriyāyāṃ hi kartṛtvaṃ na jaḍo bhavet
Since (every) external result comes about by force of a sentient will, how (could the agent be) non-sentient? For in the action of standing and the like agency (is present), and the (truly) insentient could not be an agent.
