आप्तवाक्यादथास्तीह तत्सत्यत्वेऽदृढा मतिः । न राजते ह्ययोवक्ता सत्यभाषी कदाचन ॥९०॥
āptavākyādathāstīha tatsatyatve'dṛḍhā matiḥ | na rājate hyayovaktā satyabhāṣī kadācana
— from the word of a trustworthy person ; — or (if you say) then ; — there is (valid cognition) ; — here ; — as to its truth ; — the conviction is not firm ; — does not (always) prevail ; — for ; — a speaker (otherwise) inerrant ; — a teller of truth ; — always

Or (if you say) valid cognition arises here from the word of a trustworthy person — (yet) the conviction as to its truth is not firm; for even an (otherwise) inerrant speaker is not always a teller of truth.
