स्वकार्यविषये सर्वः शक्त एव निबन्धनम् । शक्तस्य शक्यते कर्तुमेवं ४चेन्नान्यशक्तता ॥३॥
svakāryaviṣaye sarvaḥ śakta eva nibandhanam | śaktasya śakyate kartumevaṃ 4cennānyaśaktatā
— with regard to its own effect ; — everything ; — is potent indeed ; — the basis ; — of the potent ; — can be ; — done ; — thus ; — if ; — not ; — empowerment by another

(We answer:) With regard to its own effect, everything is indeed potent — that is the basis. By a potent thing alone can (its effect) be accomplished; if so, then there is no empowerment by another.
