ज्ञानान्तरेण ज्ञानं तद्विरोधादथ बाध्यते । न बाधो भिन्नकालत्वात्प्राक्तनस्याप्यभावतः ॥२३॥
jñānāntareṇa jñānaṃ tadvirodhādatha bādhyate | na bādho bhinnakālatvātprāktanasyāpyabhāvataḥ
— by a later cognition ; — a cognition ; — that ; — because of contradiction ; — now (if) ; — is annulled ; — there is no annulment ; — because of being of different times ; — of the earlier one too ; — because of its non-existence (now)

If (you say) a cognition is annulled by a later cognition through contradiction — (we reply) there is no annulment, because the two are of different times, and because the earlier one (no longer) exists (when the later arises).
