साऽरोदीदिति वेदेऽस्ति नार्थवादो निरर्थकः । विध्यङ्गत्वेन चेत्सत्ता नासत्यस्याङ्गता स्थिता ॥६७॥
sā'rodīditi vede'sti nārthavādo nirarthakaḥ | vidhyaṅgatvena cetsattā nāsatyasyāṅgatā sthitā
— 'he wept' ; — thus ; — in the Veda ; — there is ; — not ; — an explanatory eulogy ; — without import ; — as an auxiliary to an injunction ; — if ; — its reality / validity ; — not ; — of the unreal ; — auxiliary status ; — is established

'He wept' (and the like) occurs in the Veda; (and such) an explanatory eulogy (arthavāda) is not without import. If (you say) its validity is (only) as an auxiliary to an injunction — (we reply) the unreal cannot serve as an auxiliary (so even these passages affirm reality).
