पुरुषः सर्व एवेदमितिहासादिषूदितम् ।
महेशस्याष्टमूर्तित्वं यावत्पार्थिवमूढता ॥६६॥
puruṣaḥ sarva evedamitihāsādiṣūditam |
maheśasyāṣṭamūrtitvaṃ yāvatpārthivamūḍhatā
'This Person is all this' — so it is stated in the epics and elsewhere; (and there is) the eightfold embodiment of the Great Lord, (extending) even down to the dullness of the earth-element.
