The Vision of Śiva3.54

3.54
निमित्तं कल्प्यते तत्र निमित्तं तत्र कल्प्यताम् । अतथात्वे तथाभावो यत्र स्यादथ चोद्यते ॥५४॥
nimittaṃ kalpyate tatra nimittaṃ tatra kalpyatām | atathātve tathābhāvo yatra syādatha codyate
— a causal occasion ; — is to be posited ; — there ; — cause ; — there ; — let it be posited ; — when something is not so ; — its becoming so ; — where ; — occurs ; — then ; — is raised (as objection)

Where a causal occasion (genuinely) needs to be posited, there let it be posited — namely where what was not so becomes so; (only) then can the objection be pressed (— but for the self-identical Śiva it cannot).
