The Vision of Śiva1.26

1.26
बुद्धिं विना कथं बोधः सा बुद्धिः प्रकृतेः प्रजा । न च तस्य तया योग इति चेदपरस्थितौ ॥२६॥
buddhiṃ vinā kathaṃ bodhaḥ sā buddhiḥ prakṛteḥ prajā | na ca tasya tayā yoga iti cedaparasthitau
— without the intellect ; — how ; — cognition ; — that ; — intellect ; — of primordial matter ; — offspring ; — but not ; — of him (Śiva) ; — with it ; — conjunction ; — if (one says) ; — in (his) lower condition

(Objection:) 'Without the intellect how can there be cognition? But that intellect is the offspring of primordial matter (prakṛti), and he (Śiva) has no conjunction with it.' (We answer: he does, but only) in his lower condition.
