यश् च प्रमाता शून्यादिः प्रमेये व्यतिरेकिणि
माता स मेयः सन् कालादिकपञ्चकवेष्टितः ॥९॥

mātā sa meyaḥ san kālā-dikapañcakaveṣṭitaḥ

And the cognizing subject — such as the void and the rest — who, when the knowable stands forth as distinct, is a cognizing subject while being himself a knowable, is enveloped by the pentad (the sheaths) beginning with time.
