जडस्य तु न सा शक्तिः सत्ता यद् असतः सतः
कर्तृकर्मत्वतत्त्वैव कार्यकारणता ततः ॥२॥
jaḍasya tu na sā śaktiḥ sattā yad asataḥ sataḥ
kartṛkarmatvatattvaiva kāryakāraṇatā tataḥ
— of an insentient thing; — but; — not; — that power; — the bringing-into-being (the conferring of existence); — namely, which (consists in); — of the non-existent; — of the existent (making the non-existent existent); — whose essence is precisely agent-hood and object-hood; — causality (the relation of effect and cause); — therefore, hence
But an insentient thing does not have that power — the conferring of being, which makes the non-existent existent; hence causality, whose essence is precisely agent-hood and object-hood, (belongs to the Lord).
