आपूर्यमाणमचलप्रतिष्ठं समुद्रमापः प्रविशन्ति यद्वत् । तद्वत्कामा यं प्रविशन्ति सर्वे स शान्तिमाप्नोति न कामकामी ॥ २-७२ ॥
āpūryamāṇamacalapratiṣṭhaṃ samudramāpaḥ praviśanti yadvat | tadvatkāmā yaṃ praviśanti sarve sa śāntimāpnoti na kāmakāmī || 2-72 ||
— ever being filled, abiding unmoved ; — as the waters enter the ocean ; — so the man into whom all desires enter ; — he attains peace, not the desirer of desires

As the waters flow into the ocean, ever filled yet abiding unmoved, so the man into whom all desires flow attains peace — not he who lusts after desires.
