अकीर्तिं चापि भूतानि कथयिष्यन्ति तेऽव्ययाम् ।
सम्भावितस्य चाकीर्तिर्मरणादतिरिच्यते ॥
२-३५ ॥
akīrtiṃ cāpi bhūtāni kathayiṣyanti te'vyayām |
sambhāvitasya cākīrtirmaraṇādatiricyate ||
2-35 ||
— and beings will recount your disgrace ; — that will not pass away ; — and for an honored man disgrace ; — is worse than death And men will recount your undying disgrace; and for one held in honor, disgrace is worse than death.
