संविदो मायया अपहस्तितत्वेन कलादीनाम् उपरिपातिनां कञ्चुकवत् अवस्थानात्

Transliteration (IAST)

saṃvido māyayā apahastitatvena kalādīnām uparipātināṃ kañcukavat avasthānāt

— of consciousness ; — by reason of its being thrust aside by Māyā ; — falling upon (it) from above ; — like a cuirass/sheath ; — because of their abiding

(They are so called) because, consciousness having been thrust aside by Māyā, the principles beginning with kalā fall upon it from above and abide like a cuirass.
