Transliteration (IAST)

vaiṣṇavādyā hi tāvanmātra eva āgame rāgatattvena niyamitā iti na ūrdhvadarśane 'pi tadunmukhatāṃ bhajante tataḥ sattarkasadāgamasadgurūpadeśadveṣiṇa eva

— the Vaiṣṇavas and others (followers of lower paths) ; — in scripture limited to just that much ; — by the principle of attachment (rāga-tattva) ; — bound, restricted ; — toward the higher vision/doctrine ; — orientation/inclination toward it ; — haters of sound reasoning, true scripture, and a true guru's instruction

For the Vaiṣṇavas and the rest are bound by the principle of attachment within a scripture confined to just that much, and so they do not turn even toward the higher vision. Therefore they are precisely haters of sound reasoning, true scripture, and the instruction of a true guru.
