yady api tattvajñānaniṣṭhasya prāyaścittādi na kiñcit tathāpi caryāmātrād eva mokṣabhāginaḥ tān anugrahītum ācāravartanīṃ darśayet

— for one established in the knowledge of reality ; — there is no expiation or the like whatsoever ; — by mere observance (of conduct) ; — those who partake of liberation ; — in order to favor (them) ; — the course of (prescribed) conduct ; — should display, should set forth

Although for one established in the knowledge of reality there is no expiation or the like whatsoever, still, in order to favor those who partake of liberation through mere observance of conduct, he should set forth the course of prescribed conduct.
