— him (Śaṅkara, the Self); — in the role of the presiding agent; — one's own nature; — beholding; — wondering, smiling in amazement; — as if; — remains, abides; — who; — for him; — this; — evil course (saṃsāra); — whence? (i.e. nowhere)
For one who beholds his own essential nature as the presiding agent and remains as if smiling in wonder — whence can this miserable course of transmigration arise?
