तमधिष्ठातृभावेन स्वभावमवलोकयन् । स्मयमान इवास्ते यस्तस्येयं कुसृतिः कुतः ॥११॥
tam adhiṣṭhātṛ-bhāvena svabhāvam avalokayan | smayamāna ivāste yas tasyeyaṃ kusṛtiḥ kutaḥ ||
anuṣṭubh
— him (Śaṅkara, the Self) ; — in the role of the presiding agent ; — one's own nature ; — beholding ; — wondering, smiling in amazement ; — as if ; — remains, abides ; — who ; — for him ; — this ; — evil course (saṃsāra) ; — whence? (i.e. nowhere)

For one who beholds his own essential nature as the presiding agent and remains as if smiling in wonder — whence can this miserable course of transmigration arise?
