तत्र विचित्वमापन्नं न जलं जलमुच्यते । न च तत्राम्बुरूपस्य वीचिकाले विनाशिता ॥३८॥
tatra vicitvamāpannaṃ na jalaṃ jalamucyate | na ca tatrāmburūpasya vīcikāle vināśitā
— there ; — wave-state, rippling ; — having entered ; — not ; — water ; — 'water' ; — is called ; — and not ; — there ; — of the water-form ; — at the time of waving ; — perishing

There the water that has entered into the wave-state is not (then) called 'water' (as such); yet there is no destruction of the water-form at the time of waving.
