स्फोट एव हि पश्यन्ती तदन्या वा द्वयं भवेत् ।
तदन्यत्वे तदैक्ये वा तदङ्गुल्यग्ररूपया ॥५८॥
sphoṭa eva hi paśyantī tadanyā vā dvayaṃ bhavet |
tadanyatve tadaikye vā tadaṅgulyagrarūpayā
Is Paśyantī the sphoṭa (the indivisible word-essence) itself, or other than it? If other, a duality would arise; if identical with it (then the relation collapses) — as with a finger and its tip.
