सर्वाक्षगोचरत्वेन या तु बाह्यतया स्थिरा
सृष्टिः साधारणी सर्वप्रमातॄणां स जागरः ॥१७॥
sarvākṣagocaratvena yā tu bāhyatayā sthirā
sṛṣṭiḥ sādhāraṇī sarvapramātṝṇāṃ sa jāgaraḥ
— by being the object of all the senses; — which; — but; — through (its) externality; — stable, persisting; — the creation; — common, shared; — to all cognizing subjects; — that; — (is) the waking state
But the creation that is stable through its externality, by being the object of all the senses, and shared by all cognizing subjects — that is the waking state.
