8.18

इयति साक्षात् शिवः कर्ता अशुद्धं पुनर् अध्वानम् अनन्तापरनामाघोरेशः सृजति ईश्वरेच्छावशेन प्रक्षुब्धभोगलोलिकानाम् अणूनां भोगसिद्ध्यर्थम्

Transliteration (IAST)

iyati sākṣāt śivaḥ kartā aśuddhaṃ punar adhvānam anantāparanāmāghoreśaḥ sṛjati īśvarecchāvaśena prakṣubdhabhogalolikānām aṇūnāṃ bhogasiddhyartham

— over this much (the pure path) ; — directly, immediately ; — is the agent ; — the impure path ; — Aghoreśa, whose other name is Ananta ; — creates, emits ; — of (souls) stirred by a craving for experience ; — of the (bound) souls (lit. atoms) ; — for the sake of accomplishing their experience

Over just this much (the pure path) Śiva is directly the agent. The impure path, on the other hand, is created by Aghoreśa, whose other name is Ananta, by the force of the Lord's will, for the sake of accomplishing the experience of the bound souls who are stirred by a craving for experience.
