14.18

निर्बीजायां तु समयपाशान् अपि शोधयेत् सा च आसन्नमरणस्य अत्यन्तमूर्खस्यापि कर्तव्या इति परमेश्वराज्ञा तस्यापि तु गुरुदेवताग्निभक्तिनिष्ठत्वमात्रात् सिद्धिः

Transliteration (IAST)

nirbījāyāṃ tu samayapāśān api śodhayet sā ca āsannamaraṇasya atyantamūrkhasyāpi kartavyā iti parameśvarājñā tasyāpi tu gurudevatāgnibhaktiniṣṭhatvamātrāt siddhiḥ

— in the seedless initiation (which leaves no residue) ; — but ; — even the bonds of the rules of observance ; — should purify ; — and that (initiation) ; — of one whose death is near ; — even of an utter fool ; — is to be performed ; — the command of the Supreme Lord ; — yet even for him ; — from mere steadfast devotion to guru, deity, and fire ; — success (attainment)

But in the seedless initiation he should purify even the bonds of the rules of observance; and that initiation is to be performed even for one whose death is near and even for an utter fool — such is the command of the Supreme Lord. Yet even for such a one, success comes from mere steadfast devotion to the guru, the deity, and the fire.
